Hopkins Hustle Details

The Hopkins Hustle schedule has been posted. Links on the right. We are once again carpooling, and are looking for parent volunteers to cart Eagles to and from Maple Plain. Email the coaches if you are willing and we will put a list together by Thursday night. It's going to be a great weekend with great competition!

Week of 3/28 - Important Notes

- We have practice in the Apple Valley Community Center sport courts from 3-5 on Monday. Our first game is a week from Thursday - we need to use our time!

- Wednesday and Friday we will have practice, hopefully outside. Sites are still being determined.

- Five players have yet to pay their team dues. Until we receive them all, we cannot order jerseys. Don't be that guy.

- If you have a preference for size or numbers on the jersey, email them to the coaches by Monday night. Jersey sizes will be estimated after that point to speed up the process.

- There are four trucker hats from last year for sale for $7 each. First come, first served.

- The medical form that every player needs to turn in to the coaches is linked on the right side. Print it out and turn it in. By school and league policy, you will not be allowed to play if we do not have your medical form.

There are only a few things left to take care of before the season kicks off - let's get ready!

Apple Valley Ultimate mentioned on YouthUltimate.com

In their weekly rundown of notable high school Ultimate, AVHS was mentioned as winners of Thrillito. We're mentioned at the very bottom of the page. Check it out.

We only have 8 practices until the state tournament. Let's use every one. See you tomorrow.

Hopkins Hustle Results

Eagles Ultimate played extremely well in the Hopkins Hustle this weekend, going 4-3 and placing 6th out of 20 teams. Well done boys. The Hopkins team put on a fantastic tournament with great food and organization to boot. Next up: the Gustavus Thrillito.

Hopkins Hustle Final Info

We have another great weekend of Ultimate ahead of us! The complete schedule is here. Our first game starts promptly at 9:00, and the captains meeting is at 8:00.

This means we are meeting at the AVHS lot at 6:45am. DO NOT leave from your house, show up so we know we have everyone accounted for. We need to be there for the captains meeting at 8:00am, and we can use that hour to get warmed up for our games.

Remember important tournament gear: Black jersey, white alternate shirt, lots of water/various 'ades, sunblock, rain gear, and anything else you may need.

Every player needs to bring $23 to pay for the tournament cost. Checks can be made out to Erik Splett, and given to Chris. Do this as soon as possible.

Remember, our game is at Echo Park tomorrow night. See you at 5:30.

Face-Off Champions!

Eagles Ultimate won their first tournament yesterday in St. Cloud. Rolling through most of their over-matched opponents, the Eagles won out in a nail biter against Armstrong, 11-10. Congrats, boys. Now, it's back to work. We have a scrimmage to work towards...

St. Cloud Face-Off Info and Checklist

We have our first tournament this weekend. We will be playing 5 pool games, followed by a face-off game against the team closest to us. The teams:

Minneapolis South-B, White Bear Lake Black, White Bear Lake Orange, Orono-B, St. Paul Open, St. Paul Charter, Eden Prairie-B, Moundsview-B, Rochester-John Marshall, Cathedral-B

This Saturday promises to be the first real test for Eagles Ultimate. Make sure you come prepared. Cleats, white/black shirts, plenty of liquids, rain gear, sun block, and anything else you may need. Seven hours is a long time to be outside if you're not adequately prepared! We will play in everything except for thunderstorms, so be ready for it.

We will be meeting at the AVHS parking tomorrow morning at 6:45 am. Do not be late, as we need to get on the road as soon as possible. The Reid's and Mrs. O'Connell have graciously offered to carpool people up there, so not everyone needs to drive their own car. You can park your vehicle at the school for the day.

See you bright and early!

Eagles Ultimate has a home field

After talking with the fields directors for both cities, we have secured the soccer field at Echo Park Elementary for our home games. It's a nice field with relatively little wear, which is an added bonus to not having to drive to all of our games. Make sure to tell our fans (in-training) where it is!

Get Medical Waivers In, Tourney Info

As we start to get in the thick of the season, the coaches need to have all players' medical forms on hand. This for everyone's safety. If for some reason you still do not have them completed and turned in, bring them to practice on Friday at the latest. You can find them here.

Also, check your email. The info for the St. Cloud Face-Off is there, and it's only a week away.

A great season of Ultimate is upon us, let's get ready!

Henry Sibley B game now on 4/27 @ 6:30

We are currently in the process of rescheduling our game with Henry Sibley B. For now, the game is tentatively rescheduled for Monday, April 27th at 6:30pm. We'll still be traveling there, and again, carpools work wonderfully. Directions can be found in the schedule at right. The sooner we make up this game, the sooner the result will affect our both our seeding and the strength of our last two games.

Pizza Party

The Reids have been kind enough to open their house to you crazy high schoolers. Shower up after practice on Friday, and we'll meet over there at 7:00 pm for pizza and possibly some of Coach Chris' frisbee DVDs.

Parent Info Meeting

The coaches will be holding an informational meeting for all parents on Monday, April 6. The meeting will run about 45 minutes, and be held at AVHS, in room 117. The coaches will introduce themselves, answer any questions about the game itself, and go over the planned schedule for the rest of the season. If you cannot make it, email avhsultimate@gmail.com, and we'll make sure you get all relevant information. See you there!
